ON WATERCOLOR PAPER - paint with the brush pens then use the refillable water blending brush to spread and blend the color, creating watercolor style effects. Feel free to experiment with your use of water. You can even start with water from the blending brush then use the pens to add color, but remember to give the pens a little time to regain their color by brushing them on a scrap piece of paper afterwards.
HOT TIP: SMOOTH (hot pressed) watercolor paper works best if you're hoping to create watercolor effects with the pens.
DRY BRUSHING - This is an interesting effect on textured paper, where the pens are used in swift, light strokes to pick up the texture of the paper and create interesting effects.
For experienced artists we recommend familiarising yourself with the pens before starting. At first sight the pens may appear dry - use slower strokes or try adding water - if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch - we'd be very happy to help!
