How to spot treated Acacia: Uniform coloration, looks overly shiny or polished, has sticky residue on surface or when wet.
To maintain acacia wood, apply a food grade cutting board oil (such as refined coconut oil or mineral oil) to the wood every month until wood looks wet.
Please do not wash in dishwasher, as this will void your warranty.

As the years passed, the once living material was covered by sediment and yet protected from decay.
The tree structure was replaced with various minerals as water flowed through the sediment, and eventually the tree petrified (which means "turned to stone"), with different minerals producing a variety of colors.
And now, these fossil pieces, collected in Madagascar, have been sliced and polished on one side, accenting the beauty of each piece.
Sizes vary with each piece, between 4-5" longest side and between 5-10 mm thick.
